Summer 2020

I realize I have been not keeping up with blog posts, but I promise I'll try & make up for the silence in the last couple of months.

We have been on and off traveling. Whether it be day trips or overnight trips, we have been quite a few places this summer.

I've already told you about a few of them. If you follow my instagram account (@adventurezofthislife) you already know where we've been. If you don't, go follow me now!! It is where I keep everyone the most updated on our day to day activities.

Over the summer I asked you all, "What would you like to see more of on my insta?".
The results were more RV overnights. With COVID-19 a lot of our plans were canceled because of work situations. We took 4 overnight RV trips & have at least 1 more planned for this month.
At this point, trips are planned very close to departure. We have been unable to make secure plans far in advance. But we have been trying to use the time we have "parked" finding new places for day trips & adventures.

This summer's checklist:

  • Gettysburg, PA (RV test trip)
  • Cape May/Wildwood, NJ (2 RV trips)
  • Indian Lake, NY
  • Sawyer Mountain
  • Frontier Town OC (RV trip)
  • Assateague Island, MD
  • Belmar Beach, NJ
  • Grace Lord Park - Boonton, NJ
  • Turkey Mountain
  • Princeton, NJ
  • Long Bridge Park, NJ
  • Mt. Tammany - Delaware Water Gap
  • Bushkill Falls, PA
  • Washington Crossing, PA
  • Amico Island
  • Fasola Park
& probably a few more.
Yes, we are located in New Jersey. Typically, we would take a couple trips into Philadelphia & NYC but have stayed clear of the cities with the kids during this time.

George & I have taking up hiking! We have only started on little journeys but are loving it so far!
Got to get in some more at home workouts before the next hike.😂
We have a few hiking blog posts coming up!! So be on the lookout for where we went.

For right now, go follow my insta & get ready for some homeschool preschool updates!
It's all so new to me (even though I was homeschooled as a child) so I'm giving some pointers to some other moms who might also be experiencing this new chapter in our lives.

I'll be typing up a few more blogs today & sending out some of those pointers your way!

For all of you who have been following our adventures from the beginning of this year, THANK YOU!!!

For those of you who are new, WELCOME!! We can't wait to tell you about our adventures & give you some tips for those everyday life adventures with (or without) kids.

Let us know in the comments below which place on our checklist that interest you the most to know about! 💜

Homeschool Preschool

Let me start out by saying, I am no teacher. I am a mother of two children (7 & 4 years old) & was homeschooled most of my childhood (3rd-12th grade).       Side note: Homeschool is really spelled home school. But literally everyone turns it into one word (& if you don't, you haven't been homeschooled 😂) Back in March, I was working part-time as a business manager for a charter bus company. When all our trips were getting canceled it was all so confusing as to why. Everything was open, people weren't getting sick around us- yet.  I got an email from my children's school saying they we were going to be doing remote learning for the next two weeks. Ok, so two weeks remote learning & remote working.... I could handle that. WRONG! My kids never went back to school & I never went back to the office. Buses parked. Kids forced to stay home. People panicking, getting sick. Cleaning more than we needed to. Someone bought all the toilet paper. P...

Take a Hike

As I said in a few posts back, George & I have taking up hiking. Although we've only gone about 1,400 ft. high & 6.5 miles in one day, we are working our way up to even bigger in the future. I can say, that I am not in the best shape- read: terrible at steps. haha It seems every hike we've gone on has steps or a step like obstacle. I'm going to try & implement a steps workout into my day to day exercise so when challenged with this on the mountain side, it will be much easier. With that said, where have we gone so far? I'm glad you asked! My first hike this summer was actually with my younger sister, Emilie. We went to Grace Lord Park, Bontoon, NJ, to see the waterfalls. Then we hiked Turkey Mountain. Grace Lord Park was a nice one for kids if you are taking them with you. When hiking Turkey Mountain, we weren't exactly sure where we were going but we did find a nice stream & saw some cool views from the top. The kids & I went on a nice hike in ...
