Utah

Utah is a beautiful state that I could have stayed & lived in. Every waking moment was a new adventure with different views all along the way. At some points of the trip we didn’t have cell service or the radio. We found ourselves driving around, top down, singing, talking & trying to catch any satellite radio we could.
A very freeing feeling to be disconnected & just be able to enjoy each other & the earth’s beauty that much more.

We left our hotel in Las Vegas & headed to Zion National Park.
It was about a three hour drive. When we got there we went into the visitors center, got a map & another stamp in our National Park Passport.
One of my favorite things we’ve done for us & our kids is the NP Passport! George & I have one together but the kids each have one of their own.
We plan some of our trips based on National Park locations because we collect passport stamps.
The other thing we collect from our travels are magnets! We like to look at all the places we’ve been on our refrigerator.

After we were done in the visitors center, we headed out to the road that went through the park. Because our schedule was limited we only had time for some stops along the way, taking pictures & taking short hikes/walks around the park.
Some day I hope to go back & really take the time to hike more!

It was a really cloudy day. Made for a beautiful day to take pictures but was unpredictable in when to keep the top down because it rained off & on. We chose to keep the top down through Zion since it hadn’t really rained much during our visit there & the view was that much more gorgeous!

After exploring Zion, we drove to Bryce Canyon.
It was about an hour & a half drive from Zion.
Along the way, it started raining more & more.
When we got there, we were able to drive along the canyon & through it, much like we did with Zion, stopping & exploring.

Some of the most amazing views I’ve ever seen!
In certain spots you could see it raining in the distance.
Bryce Canyon also has a visitor center you can visit & get a NP passport stamp in!

Because our plan was to go to Antelope Canyon the next day we chose to stay overnight in St. George, UT.
Well, there you have it— our day in Utah!
This trip out west, as a whole, was my favorite we’ve taken so far. Can’t wait to take our kids there some day & really hike through the beautiful Zion & explore what is in Bryce Canyon some more!

Tell us what your favorite place was/is out west in the comments below!

Homeschool Preschool

Let me start out by saying, I am no teacher. I am a mother of two children (7 & 4 years old) & was homeschooled most of my childhood (3rd-12th grade).       Side note: Homeschool is really spelled home school. But literally everyone turns it into one word (& if you don't, you haven't been homeschooled 😂) Back in March, I was working part-time as a business manager for a charter bus company. When all our trips were getting canceled it was all so confusing as to why. Everything was open, people weren't getting sick around us- yet.  I got an email from my children's school saying they we were going to be doing remote learning for the next two weeks. Ok, so two weeks remote learning & remote working.... I could handle that. WRONG! My kids never went back to school & I never went back to the office. Buses parked. Kids forced to stay home. People panicking, getting sick. Cleaning more than we needed to. Someone bought all the toilet paper. P...

Summer 2020

I realize I have been not keeping up with blog posts, but I promise I'll try & make up for the silence in the last couple of months. We have been on and off traveling. Whether it be day trips or overnight trips, we have been quite a few places this summer. I've already told you about a few of them. If you follow my instagram account ( @adventurezofthislife ) you already know where we've been. If you don't, go follow me now!! It is where I keep everyone the most updated on our day to day activities.  Over the summer I asked you all, "What would you like to see more of on my insta?". The results were more RV overnights. With COVID-19 a lot of our plans were canceled because of work situations. We took 4 overnight RV trips & have at least 1 more planned for this month. At this point, trips are planned very close to departure. We have been unable to make secure plans far in advance. But we have been trying to use the time we have "parked" findin...

Take a Hike

As I said in a few posts back, George & I have taking up hiking. Although we've only gone about 1,400 ft. high & 6.5 miles in one day, we are working our way up to even bigger in the future. I can say, that I am not in the best shape- read: terrible at steps. haha It seems every hike we've gone on has steps or a step like obstacle. I'm going to try & implement a steps workout into my day to day exercise so when challenged with this on the mountain side, it will be much easier. With that said, where have we gone so far? I'm glad you asked! My first hike this summer was actually with my younger sister, Emilie. We went to Grace Lord Park, Bontoon, NJ, to see the waterfalls. Then we hiked Turkey Mountain. Grace Lord Park was a nice one for kids if you are taking them with you. When hiking Turkey Mountain, we weren't exactly sure where we were going but we did find a nice stream & saw some cool views from the top. The kids & I went on a nice hike in ...
