Antelope Canyon

Let me start out by saying, sorry this is late...
Those of you who have been following along may have seen a pattern. I was trying to get them out to you every Wednesday but because we were in Gettysburg for a couple days it was postponed to today. The WiFi was a bit spotty while out & about anyway but more on that later.

Antelope Canyon- one of the most coolest places I've ever been!

Since we had stayed overnight in St. George, UT, we were about 2.75 hours away from the canyon.
We took a tour into Lower Antelope Canyon. Upon arrival we had to check-in & wait for our assigned timeframe to head into the canyon.

It being about 5 years ago, I don't remember exactly how long the walk was but when we got to the canyon we had to climb down steps & ladders to get into the canyon.

Once down in the cave, the colors & views were AMAZING!!
Our guide was so fun & would tell us when to get ready to take cool pictures. He would ask if you wanted your picture taken in certain places too.

When the tour was over you had to climb out of the canyon. I’m pretty sure it was a long stairway again until the top when you climb a few rocks out.

After our tour we headed out to Horseshoe Bend.
We didn’t take a tour there, we just parked & hiked to the spot you could see it from above.

It was a hot afternoon in July so the sun was beating on us. It was a dry heat kind of feel though, so not too bad.

We hiked back to the car & headed back to our hotel room in Las Vegas to head to Los Angeles, CA the next day.

Homeschool Preschool

Let me start out by saying, I am no teacher. I am a mother of two children (7 & 4 years old) & was homeschooled most of my childhood (3rd-12th grade).       Side note: Homeschool is really spelled home school. But literally everyone turns it into one word (& if you don't, you haven't been homeschooled 😂) Back in March, I was working part-time as a business manager for a charter bus company. When all our trips were getting canceled it was all so confusing as to why. Everything was open, people weren't getting sick around us- yet.  I got an email from my children's school saying they we were going to be doing remote learning for the next two weeks. Ok, so two weeks remote learning & remote working.... I could handle that. WRONG! My kids never went back to school & I never went back to the office. Buses parked. Kids forced to stay home. People panicking, getting sick. Cleaning more than we needed to. Someone bought all the toilet paper. P...

Summer 2020

I realize I have been not keeping up with blog posts, but I promise I'll try & make up for the silence in the last couple of months. We have been on and off traveling. Whether it be day trips or overnight trips, we have been quite a few places this summer. I've already told you about a few of them. If you follow my instagram account ( @adventurezofthislife ) you already know where we've been. If you don't, go follow me now!! It is where I keep everyone the most updated on our day to day activities.  Over the summer I asked you all, "What would you like to see more of on my insta?". The results were more RV overnights. With COVID-19 a lot of our plans were canceled because of work situations. We took 4 overnight RV trips & have at least 1 more planned for this month. At this point, trips are planned very close to departure. We have been unable to make secure plans far in advance. But we have been trying to use the time we have "parked" findin...

Take a Hike

As I said in a few posts back, George & I have taking up hiking. Although we've only gone about 1,400 ft. high & 6.5 miles in one day, we are working our way up to even bigger in the future. I can say, that I am not in the best shape- read: terrible at steps. haha It seems every hike we've gone on has steps or a step like obstacle. I'm going to try & implement a steps workout into my day to day exercise so when challenged with this on the mountain side, it will be much easier. With that said, where have we gone so far? I'm glad you asked! My first hike this summer was actually with my younger sister, Emilie. We went to Grace Lord Park, Bontoon, NJ, to see the waterfalls. Then we hiked Turkey Mountain. Grace Lord Park was a nice one for kids if you are taking them with you. When hiking Turkey Mountain, we weren't exactly sure where we were going but we did find a nice stream & saw some cool views from the top. The kids & I went on a nice hike in ...
