Back in July of August 2015, George & I went out to explore the west for a week long adventure.
We stayed in Las Vegas at The Grandview. It was indeed a grand view! Our trip wasn't really about the Las Vegas experience, but rather using it as a centerpoint of all the other places out west we were going. More on that in another post.
But first, being that we are a military family, I wanted to share with you how we came about to picking this hotel. It's called AFV Club. If you're a military family & you plan on going somewhere for a week or more, check their website out!
With that said, we loved staying on the outside of the city but still close enough to go in when we wanted to.
We rented a convertible so we would drive through the strip with the top down. The views on this trip were stunning & even better with no roof on the car!
One night we went & saw Cirque du Soleil - Love. It was spectacular!
We rode the High Roller & roller coasters/rides at the different casinos including X-Scream on the Stratosphere.
If you don't know George & I very well: we base a lot of our trips on where the closest theme parks are. We love to go on roller coasters! Our honeymoon was to TWO theme parks: Busch Gardens & King's Dominion.
So many roller coasters in that week...
When in Vegas... yes, we did some touristy things too. But as I said before, our main focus of this trip was journeying out west & we had many adventures in different places that week.
So if you're looking for a central "home base" trip to Vegas, this is the trip for you!
We went to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, LA, etc.
I will keep each state in separate posts so you don't get too much info all at once.
Here are a few more pictures of our Las Vegas trip:
