Grand Canyon

On our way to Las Vegas we took a detour to the Hoover Dam. We walked along the bridge that put us in both Nevada & Arizona within one stride. I’m not much of a history buff, but I do like to see things I  learned  about in school. A few days later we took a tour from Vegas to the  Grand Canyon ! It was a bus ride to the West Rim, then a helicopter ride to the bottom of the canyon & then a pontoon ride along the Colorado River. If you do nothing else, TAKE THE HELICOPTER RIDE!! It was so cool to see the canyon up so close & to feel like you were going into a whole new world. The pontoon ride was pretty cool too. It was a little bit of a hike to the dock— which I enjoyed. Pretty much the whole time we were down there I was in awe of God’s beautiful creation! Then they took us back up just in time for a crazy rainstorm. Las Vegas

Back in July of August 2015, George & I went out to explore the west for a week long adventure. We stayed in Las Vegas at  The Grandview . It was indeed a grand view! Our trip wasn't really about the Las Vegas experience, but rather using it as a centerpoint of all the other places out west we were going. More on that in another post. But first, being that we are a military family, I wanted to share with you how we came about to picking this hotel. It's called AFV Club . If you're a military family & you plan on going somewhere for a week or more, check their website out! With that said, we loved staying on the outside of the city but still close enough to go in when we wanted to. We rented a convertible so we would drive through the strip with the top down. The views on this trip were stunning & even better with no roof on the car! One night we went & saw  Cirque du Soleil - Love . It was spectacular! We rode the  High Roller ...
